Professor of Global Health Policy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a senior scholar at the O’Neill Institute. Co-editor of a series of volumes tracing the trajectory of human rights within the World Health Organization, and one of the principal authorities on the interface between global health governance and the international human rights system.

Meier is the natural bridge between an argument on physiological rights and the existing scholarly infrastructure of the right to health. His work maps how the right has been operationalized (and where it has failed to be operationalized) inside the United Nations system.
