Emily Ho

Director of the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University, one of the very few academic institutions in the world explicitly organized around the biology of micronutrients across the healthspan. Her own laboratory works on zinc, on the sensitivity of the epigenome to marginal zinc status, and on the way chronic low-grade inflammation is modulated by mineral adequacy.

Why she matters here

The Institute Ho directs is the institutional descendant of the argument this resource makes. Its Micronutrient Information Center already publishes what a public authority ought to publish: nutrient-by-nutrient monographs that go beyond the prevention of acute deficiency.
