IFIC — International Food Information Council

Why it matters here

IFIC represents the public-relations layer of the food-industry position on nutrition. It is worth noting in this collection because a physiological rights argument, if it ever reaches the general press, will be tested against explanations that the IFIC and its counterparts have prepared for exactly that press. The vocabulary of balanced diet used in that context is a specific artefact, not a self-evident description of what nutritional adequacy means.
