Reinhold Vieth

Emeritus Professor at the University of Toronto and Mount Sinai Hospital. For three decades, has argued, in the pages of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and elsewhere, that the North American Dietary Reference Intake for vitamin D was set on the basis of a statistical error, that the resulting recommended intake is roughly an order of magnitude below the physiological requirement, and that this discrepancy has real consequences for populations at higher latitudes.
