Dahdaleh Distinguished Chair in Global Governance and Legal Epidemiology at York University and Director of the Global Strategy Lab. Scientific Director of the CIHR Institute of Population and Public Health, and author of a body of empirical work on how international law, treaty design and institutional architecture shape public health outcomes.

Why he matters here

Hoffman is the Canadian counterpart to the Georgetown school of global health law. His empirical approach to the question, when do international legal instruments actually change population health outcomes, is the counterpart on the governance side to what this resource asks on the biological side.
