Principal UN agency for the delivery of food assistance in emergencies, in protracted crises and in school-feeding programs. Nobel Peace Prize 2020. Operates the largest global logistics network dedicated to the movement of food, and, through its supplementary feeding programs, one of the largest interventions worldwide on child undernutrition and micronutrient adequacy.

Why it matters here

WFP operates at the extreme lower end of the physiological rights argument, the end at which the failure is measurable in wasting, stunting and death. The argument this resource proposes is that the WFP threshold is the visible end of a continuum that extends into populations for whom the same physiological logic applies but is not called by its name.
